Farm Credit West At A Glance
- More than 90 years of lending
to farmers located from the Sierra Nevadas to the Pacific Coast, in
good times and bad.
- The # 1 financial services customer-owned
cooperative for California's Central Coast, San Joaquin Valley and Sacramento Valley
agricultural industry.
- As of April 30, 2008, Farm Credit West and Sacramento Valley Farm Credit merged into the new Farm Credit West. The merger of the two former associations was ideal because they shared the same commitment to customer service, now having enhanced ability to serve an agricultural industry that is itself consolidating into ever larger entities. The merger provided further diversification of risk both in terms of geography, as well as commodities financed, and reduced economic capital requirements by an estimated $20 million, further expanding the our lending capacity. The merger now provides Farm Credit West a more central headquarters location in the Sacramento metropolitan area where State government and most agricultural organizations, with state headquarters, are located.
