Intern Program

Founded in 1997, Farm Credit West’s successful Intern Program offers the opportunity for college students to gain valuable on-the-job training in agricultural lending and /or the farm real estate appraisal process. Applications are accepted annually, beginning February 1, with a deadline of March 1. Applicants are interviewed in mid-March and positions are filled by the end of March or early April.

The 10-week program generally begins at the end of June and runs through the end of August. Selected Interns are paid $2,500 per month, and are not eligible for other benefits.

Eligible applicants must be a college Junior or Senior, majoring in agriculture, agribusiness, finance or equivalent. A background in agriculture or agribusiness is preferred. Strong verbal and writing skills, along with proficiency in the use of PC, word processing and selected spreadsheet software are required.

Our north valley offices are located in Woodland and Yuba City. Central valley offices are located in Hanford, Dinuba, Tulare and Bakersfield. Central Coast offices are located in Ventura, Santa Maria and Templeton. Arizona offices are located in Tempe, Yuma, Safford and Imperial (CA).
