Scholarship Application

Thank you for your interest in the Farm Credit West Scholarship Program. Please review the scholarship guidelines below and complete the online application.

This application is for the 2022-2023 school year and first time applicants only. For students renewing their FCW Scholarship the Renewal Application will be available in March 2022.

The Scholarship

Each school year FCW awards $1,500 scholarships based on the criteria in the "Requirements" section below. The number of scholars selected varies annually. Scholarships are annually renewable for a total of four scholarships. Renewals are only accepted based on the scholar's continuing qualifying enrollment and academic excellence. FCW reserves the right to discontinue this program at any time. First time applicants will be informed of any award by March 31, 2022.


  • Applicants must be a FCW customer's dependent (as defined by the IRS), a FCW customer, or a FCW customer's spouse ("customer" is defined as being a Farm Credit West stockholder).

  • Applicants must exhibit academic excellence as demonstrated by the scholar's academic record in high school, junior college or college (minimum G.P.A. of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale).  This assessment requires submission of a transcript.

  • Applicants must be an entering or a current full-time student at a junior or four-year college ("Full-time" = 24 semester units per year or 36 quarter units per year).

  • Applicants must be working towards a major related to agriculture (e.g., crop science, animal science, ag economics, ag education, agribusiness, international agriculture, ornamental agriculture, food science, soil science, dairy science, agricultural engineering, nutrition, fruit science, viticulture, enology, etc.).

  • Application Deadline

    Complete application package is due by February 15, 2022

    Application Process

    The online application is available for completion. Before you start, be sure you have the following documents ready to attach:

  • Most recent transcripts including Fall 2021

  • Current digital photo (headshot for potential publication)

  • Essay - How will you use your education to contribute to agriculture over the next ten years?

  • Signed Acknowledgement by the applicant and the applicant’s guardian.
