Additional Financial Relief Available for Ag Producers
Recently, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced an additional $14 billion for agricultural producers who continue to face financial challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic and related market disruptions.
This is the second round of funding through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP 2), designed to cover financial losses since April 2020 and provide additional relief to agricultural producers. In this round, USDA added new ways to qualify for funding and expanded the program to more commodities, including row crops, livestock, specialty crops, dairy, and others. A complete list of eligible commodities can be found HERE.
Qualified producers may visit the CFAP 2 Application Portal and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete an application. All applicants will be asked to provide sales and inventory reports, along with other company information. The deadline to apply for funding is Friday, December 11, 2020.
